Abstract

This study aims to develop a conceptual model for the development of Nahwu learning materials based on Islamic ecotheological values without altering the disciplinary foundations of Nahwu as a branch of Arabic grammar. The study employed a qualitative library research approach. Data were collected through a critical review of the literature on Nahwu instruction, learning materials development, value-based education, and Islamic ecotheology and were analyzed using content analysis and conceptual synthesis. The findings indicate that Islamic ecotheological values can be integrated into learning materials at the pedagogical level without modifying the theoretical structure of Nahwu. The proposed conceptual model consists of four interrelated components: (1) selecting Arabic texts that embody Islamic ecotheological values; (2) developing contextualized grammatical examples; (3) designing text-based exercises that incorporate Islamic ecotheological values; and (4) constructing assessment tasks that integrate the achievement of Nahwu grammatical competence with learners’ understanding of the Islamic ecotheological values embedded in the texts. The model preserves the disciplinary integrity of Nahwu while extending the pedagogical function of learning materials as a medium for value internalization. This study contributes a conceptual model for developing value-based Nahwu learning materials and provides a theoretical foundation for strengthening the role of Arabic language education in promoting cultural resilience in the multipolar era.
