Abstract

This research begins with the statement that: The multipolar era has brought technological disruption and global economic uncertainty, triggering a surge in financial stress at the household level. This phenomenon is exacerbated by the widespread online lending culture (pinjol), which offers easy access but traps families in the trap of consumer debt and usury. A financial resilience model is needed that is not only rational but also rooted in spiritual values and local wisdom. This research aims to reconstruct the concept of family financial resilience through an Islamic-Malay ecotheological approach. This model combines the principles of maqashid sharia (blessings, protection of wealth) with Malay cultural wisdom (such as the concept of julo-julo, simplicity, and ecological-spiritual sustainability) as an alternative strategy to respond to the digital lending culture. This research uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological case study method. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, participant observation of Muslim family communities in the Malay region, and a literature review. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, encompassing data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The preliminary findings of this study indicate that Islamic- Malay ecotheology provides a strong moral foundation for family financial management. This concept promotes ethical consumption patterns, prohibits usurious/speculative debt, and optimizes philanthropic instruments (zakat, infaq, and sedekah). Furthermore, local Malay wisdom has been proven to foster social solidarity and community- based economic independence, effectively protecting families from the exploitation of illegal online lenders. The contribution of this research is expected to be that this reconstruction will produce an applicable ecotheology- based Sakinah Finance model. This model serves as a practical and theoretical guide for family institutions in achieving financial stability, spiritual well-being, and resilience in the face of economic crises in the modern era.
