Abstract

This article formulates a conceptual model of a digital-based Santri Service Management Information System for improving service quality in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). The study is motivated by the growing complexity of santri services, including administration, finance, dormitory affairs, discipline, health, permits, academic information, and communication with parents. Unlike prior studies that mainly discuss digital applications or administrative efficiency, this article positions digitalization as a managerial transformation involving data integration, human resources, procedures, technology, leadership, organizational culture, and Islamic values. The study uses an integrative library research approach by synthesizing literature on management information systems, information system success, service quality, digital transformation in education, education management information systems, data governance, and pesantren management. The proposed model consists of five interrelated components: input, process, output, outcome, and feedback. The model emphasizes verified data, role-based access, data security, user training, leadership support, staged implementation, and continuous quality improvement. This article contributes to Islamic educational management by offering a theoretically grounded conceptual framework that can guide empirical research, policy formulation, and the development of digital santri service systems. Because the model is conceptual, its practical effectiveness must be examined through field studies, design-based research, or implementation evaluation in pesantren contexts.
