Abstract
The digital era poses significant challenges to the character formation of younger generations, including declining religiosity, rising individualism, hedonism, and identity crises. This study examines the internalization of Sufism-based Tauhidullah values in shaping the character of students (santri) at Suryalaya Islamic Boarding School, Tasikmalaya, which is affiliated with the Qadiriyah Naqsyabandiyah Order (TQN). A qualitative case study approach was employed. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with pesantren leaders, talqin representatives, teachers, students and alumni, as well as document analysis. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that: (1) Tauhidullah serves as the philosophical, theological, and pedagogical foundation of the pesantren educational system; (2) its values are internalized through dhikr, talqin, manaqiban, worship habituation, and teachers’ role modeling within the framework of TQN Sufism; (3) the resulting character traits include religiosity, discipline, humility, independence and social responsibility; (4) key supporting factors are charismatic leadership, a strong religious culture, exemplary teachers, and a conducive pesantren environment, while challenges arise from social media influences, external cultural values, and students’ diverse backgrounds; and (5) the study proposes the ITT-MPK Model (Internalization of Tauhidullah through TQN Sufism in Character Education Management) as a conceptual framework for strengthening students’ character in the digital era. These findings contribute to Islamic Education Management by positioning Tauhidullah as the core value, TQN Sufism as the internalization method and pesantren management as the instrument for holistic character education.
